Biography

Razor blade elbows, a military background and an extreme sense of tradition, Alex “The Great” Petroulias is quickly becoming one of the hottest names in Australian Muay Thai. Trained by the renowned Kongsak Superboy Muensang, Alex has already conquered the WBC and WKA in the Welterweight division winning both Victoria and Australian titles within an excitingly short two year period.
Alex refused to rest upon his success and has sought out new competition by moving into the Super Lightweight division where he has further developed and has almost conquered yet another weight class. Alex challenged some of Australia's biggest names and defeated them winning him the WBC Australian title and the WKN Intercontinental title in this devision.
Influenced by the likes of Buakaw, Saenchai and Stan The Man, Alex Initially made his first impact winning an 8 man eliminator where he won 3 fights consecutively in the one night. Humbled by his victory Alex donated half his winnings to the Australian Lung Foundation in loving memory of his best friends father Michael Maroush, who was also a father figure to Alex.
Eloquent in the art of Wai Kru (Pre-fight ritual) Alex embodies the very essence of Muay Thai culture. Not only representing his Greek/Australian heritage but honoring Thailand’s countless generations of fighters.
